At Grove Road Primary School we offer a choice of nursery sessions and this information sheet will explain how we administer them.
Every child is entitled to 15 hours government-funded sessions per week. Our nursery sessions are 3 hours long and you can request which days you would like your child to attend.
We require your child to attend a minimum of 5 sessions per week. There is the option to add additional sessions or lunch clubs above your funded sessions and there are no restrictions to how many additional sessions or lunch clubs you purchase, as long as we have availability on the days you’ve requested. Once sessions have been agreed, they cannot be altered during the term. Additional sessions can only be added at the end of each term, ready for the start of the next term, and only if there is availability.
*Optional Hot lunches are charged separately as part of lunch club and information regarding hot school lunches is available from the main school office.
Payment for additional sessions, lunch club and hot lunches are invoiced half-termly, in advance. You will receive an invoice during the last week of a half term for additional sessions and lunch clubs for the next half term. Payment is due by the end of the first week of the new half-term.
Prompt payment is required for all additional sessions and lunch clubs as per our charging policy.
Absence through sickness or holiday in term time will not be refunded. You will not be charged for any additional sessions when the school is closed.
Additional sessions are charged at £19.50 per session and lunch club session £6.50.

Clothing
Children in Nursery are not required to wear school uniform but are encouraged to wear a nursery school polo shirt. They can get rather messy and are also encouraged to go out to play in most weathers, so appropriate clothing is essential. Please make sure that all your clothes and shoes are labelled clearly with your child’s name. We also ask that you send in a pair of indoor shoes; which can be black plimsolls, trainers or sandals and appropriate clothing for outdoor play (eg: a suitable coat for the weather conditions).Polo shirts can be ordered from Mapac®, our on-line uniform supplier on:
