Headteacher's Welcome
On behalf of the children, staff and governors of Grove Road Primary school, I would like to warmly welcome you to our school.
At Grove Road, we all share a common, child-centred goal to foster a culture of learning and enjoyment for all.
Our strong and effective partnership with parents is an essential ingredient for our school. At Grove, we work hard to equip every child with the skills and aspirations to become life-long learners in partnership with parents and a range of school partners.
Our aim is to foster this culture of partnership and success for all, so that parents, pupils, governors and staff feel confident and secure that Grove Road will go from strength to strength.
I joined Grove Road as Headteacher in September 2012 with 18 years of experience in Primary education. I am exceptionally proud of the professional learning community that we have developed. Our governors are committed and ambitious in their leadership of our school and provide an excellent contribution in terms of their time and professional expertise. The staff are a hard-working and dedicated team who have built a strong learning community; balancing high expectations with a range of systems and routines to build and nurture positive attitudes to learning amongst the children. The children have a strong voice, with every child participating in fortnightly House Forums. We seek their views regularly to ensure they feel confident and happy in their learning.
The pace of change and improvement at Grove Road has been very exciting. The challenge is to maintain these improvements whilst continuing to promote long term adaptive changes. Grove Road is the perfect example of how school and community can come together to harness success and generate continual improvement to secure long term success. We believe passionately that every child has the right to succeed and pursue whatever dreams they may have for the future.
