Yr R Bekonscot Model Village Trip

Dear Reception Parents and Carers,
We have made a booking for Reception to visit Bekonscot Model Village & Railway in Beaconsfield on Wednesday 7th May as part of our ‘Going Back in Time’ topic. The children will enjoy a train ride, an ‘Oi Get off our Train!’ workshop and lots of time to explore the model village and answer all the questions in our quiz booklet.
Children will need to be at school by 8.30am on this day as the coach will leave promptly at 9.00am and we will return by normal pick-up time.
On the day the children should wear school uniform, outdoor shoes for walking and bring a small rucksack. It should contain their packed lunch, their water bottle, a waterproof coat and a sun hat. Please also apply sun cream before arrival at school. You may also wish to send a small (not chocolate or crisps) snack for your child, which we will eat when we arrive. Please send this in a separate labelled snack box or small food bag.
If you would prefer school to supply a school packed lunch for this trip, we can do this, as a part of UiFSM. Please enter your childs’ choice of Tuna or Cheese (or Own if you are providing) in the comment section on the School Gateway for their choice of sandwich by Friday 28th March, as we will need to order the food in advance from Herts Catering. Please ensure you provide them with a drink as this is not provided as part of UiFSM.
After this date, you will be required to provide a packed lunch for the trip. If you opt for school to provide a packed lunch, you will still need to provide a bottle of water as ALL CHILDREN will need to bring a named bottle of water with them.
The cost will be £15.50 per child, which includes insurance, admission and coach fees.
We also require a small number of adult helpers. Please speak to your class teacher if you are available to help. Unfortunately, we are limited on the number of helpers, due to ratios and seats on the coach.
Parental consent and payment is now requested using School Gateway. www.schoolgateway.com This needs to be completed by Friday 28th March.
If your child suffers from travel sickness, please ensure your child has taken their medication in advance of the trip and also notify us, as medication forms need to be completed prior to the trip. Travel sickness medication must come in its’ original packaging with dosing amount. Forms are available from the school office.
Yours sincerely
