Owls Club

 

Owls afterschool Club runs in the KS2 building every afternoon between 3:15pm and 6pm (except on the last day of term when the school closes at 1:30pm).

We cater for children from Reception to Year 6. We use the KS2 dining hall, KS2 main hall, our own den as well as the playgrounds and field when the weather allows. 

Children are collected from Reception and KS1 (year 1 and 2) while KS2 children report directly to the Club after school.

Children who have signed up to other clubs during the afternoon are collected and returned to Owls.

All Owls staff members are DBS checked and have undertaken Level 1 Safeguarding Children training. Staff Profiles which include training can be found by following the link on the left of this page.

3:00pm

Staff arrive

  •   Begin setting up owls activities according to planning

 

3:15pm

Children collected

 

  • KS2 sign in Owls register
  • KS1 are collected
  • Reception are collected by a keyworker
  • All children are signed in and accounted for

 

3:30pm

Main Activities

 

  • Children can choose an activity:
  • Main activity - Adult led
  • Free choice of activities
  • Outside play
  • KS1 Hall (when available)

 

We operate a free flow system where children can move freely between inside and outside. Each child has a name card which is given to a staff member in the area they choose. The staff will be using walkie-talkies to communicate the movement of children to each other.

 

4:30pm

Tea Time

 

  • Staff will prepare tea, children are encouraged to help set tables and cut fruit.
  • Children are called by year group to wash their hands and collect their water bottles
  • Once everyone has found a place at the table, we ask children to serve or prepare their own food as much as possible.
  • Staff sit at tables with children  and participate in ‘Tea time chats’
  • After Tea children clear away onto the trays provided and stack their chairs.

 

5:00pm

Activities

  • Children go back to their preferred activity

 

5:30pm

Tidy away

  • We will begin to tidy away activities that are not being used

6:00pm

Children are collected

  • This is the perfect opportunity for parents to come and have a chat with staff about anything they would like to discuss.
