Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum
In order to be able to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum we require a minimum attendance of 5 sessions per week. This enables us to deliver the correct curriculum and monitor their progress. You will need to specify how many funded sessions you will be using per term on the “parent declaration form”. Any sessions/lunch clubs that are not funded will be required to be paid for.
Our provision ensures all children have equal opportunities to access a varied curriculum which ever sessions they attend. Wherever possible we suggest a minimum of 5 half day sessions, spread across 5 days.
Our Nursery operates a one term intake in September, deferrals of one term (January start) can be requested in writing for children born after 1st April, but most parents of summer born children currently opt to take advantage of the September start.
To confirm you are using your Nursery funding with us, you will also need to complete a ‘Parent Declaration Form’ termly.
There are also two new government initiatives to help working parents with childcare costs:
Tax-Free Childcare and 30 hours free childcare, which are two separate government schemes, to help parents with the cost of childcare. If this is applicable to you, you can apply for both through one, online application – the childcare service, www.childcarechoices.gov.uk
Invoices for additional sessions, lunch club and hot lunches are sent out half-termly, in advance. You will receive an invoice during the last week of a half term for additional sessions and lunch clubs for the next half term. Payment is due by the end of the first week of the new half-term.
Prompt payment is required for all additional sessions and lunch clubs as per our charging policy.
Absence through sickness or holiday in term time will not be refunded. You will not be charged for any additional sessions when the school is closed.
Additional sessions are charged at £15.15 per session and the session times are below.
Flexible Drop Off/Pick Up
We also offer flexible drop off and pick up at the beginning and the end of the day, to allow your child to settle more easily each day.
Drop Off Between 8.30am – 9.00am
AM Sessions Finish 11.30am
Lunch Club 11.30am – 12.30pm
PM Sessions Start 12.30pm
Pick Up Between 3.00pm – 3.30pm
We encourage your child to be independent by getting their own shoes and coats on and find the flexible drop off and pick up helps them with this.
Clothing
Children in Nursery are not required to wear school uniform but are encouraged to wear a nursery school polo shirt. They can get rather messy and are also encouraged to go out to play in most weathers, so appropriate clothing is essential. Please make sure that all your clothes and shoes are labelled clearly with your child’s name. We also ask that you send in a pair of indoor shoes; which can be black plimsolls, trainers or sandals and appropriate clothing for outdoor play (eg: a suitable coat for the weather conditions).
Book Bags
We would like all children to purchase a book bag to enable them to bring home reading books. This would help keep our books in good condition for all children to use.
Book bags and polo shirts can be ordered from Mapac®, our on-line uniform supplier on
