Yesterday Year 2 learnt about the Jewish festival of Sukkot. This is a week-long celebration of the autumn harvest and brings families and friends together. Jewish people build a Sukkah (which is a special 3-sided booth with branches, leaves or grasses for the roof) and spend lots of time in it over Sukkot. We built our own Sukkah using natural materials we found on the school field.
A kind parent has alerted the Inclusion Team to 'Dawnosaurs', a free event held at The Natural History Museum for neurodivergent children, including those with autism, ADHD, Tourette’s, OCD and other sensory processing difficulties.
Enjoy the Museum, free from the hustle and bustle of the general public. Visitors have access to a wide range of galleries and activities supported by and led by experienced, neurodivergent-aware facilitators.
The next event is on Saturday 6 December, 08.00–10.00am.
This event is best for children aged five to 15, and siblings are welcome.
It’s essential that all visitors book a free ticket online. Tickets are released for each event a few months in advance.
Please read the essential information before booking.
Well done to all the Reception and Nursery children (and staff!) for their hard work creating a lovely scarecrow for the Tring Apple Parade. Everyone showed fantastic teamwork and we are very proud of our lovely cheerful scarecrow.
Many thanks to all the children, staff and parents who attended the parade on Saturday.
